Parking Fees
All parking facilities charge $2 for 0-1 hour, $5 for 1-5 hours,
and then $1 per hour thereafter up to a maximum daily fee of $12.
Convenient parking for cruise passengers is available in the Northport
or Midport Parking Garage. Garages are well-illuminated, security-patrolled,
and provide handicapped parking with unimpeded access to crosswalks
and elevators. No busses, campers, trucks, trailers or recreational
vehicles permitted.
Parkimg Directions
The 2,500-space Northport Parking Garage sits between the Greater
Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center and all Northport
cruise terminals including Cruise Terminals #1, 2 and 4. Easiest way
to access this garage is turning south on Eisenhower Blvd. from 17th
Street Causeway or coming all the way east on State Road 84, entering
the port and turning left at Eisenhower Blvd. If taking I-595 East
straight into the port, follow signs for Terminals #1, 2 and 4 or
the Convention Center.
The 2000-space Midport Parking Garage is within easy walking distance
of Midport cruise terminals. Easiest access is taking I-595 east straight
into the port, continuing to head east to the garage on the left side
of the street. Midport Garage services Cruise Terminals #18, 19, 21,
22/24, 25, 26, 27 and 29.
Terminal Information
- Description: Dual purpose facility handling both cruise and cargo
operations.
- Cruise terminal: 19,172 square feet / 1,781 square meters
- Baggage handling: 25,000 square feet / 2,323 square meters
- Transit cargo warehouse: 30,600 square feet / 2,843 square meters
- Built: 1958 as Terminal #42
- Renovations: '83- added second floor passenger area; '89- upgraded
flooring; '94- added new firewall; '95- the terminal underwent a
major $2.8 million expansion and upgrade. Its renovations set the
standard for several other terminal upgrades with the baggage claim
area air-conditioned and completely redesigned to absorb passenger
check-in activities. This allows the former check-in area to be
used for a larger comfortable seating area while passengers wait
to board ships. The terminal also has an additional set of restrooms,
another set of stairway and escalators and a second passenger loading
bridge for smoother embarking and disembarking; '97 / '98- 4,000
sq. ft. (372 sq. m.) of newly created office space for Princess
Cruises underwent an $280,000 interior design project.
